This is a living document. I add words and modify definitions whenever I see fit. "aid" noun Expired medication. "anti-Semitism" noun Hostility or prejudice against Jews in the past and theoretically in the present unless targeted at Israel. In fact, classic anti-Semitism and its major crimes ended on May 15 1948.   "apartheid" noun A terrible crime against humanity caused by Israel. Apartheid happens when Arab nationalists or Muslim fundamentalists are unable to com...

Lawrence Auster's reader makes a good point: "The way to end the "Koran abuse" is simply to take the Korans away. I don't think there is anything legally that requires we provide Korans to war prisoners and terrorists. Frankly, it seems the harder we try to be polite and respectful to these prisoners the more we are hated. So why bother with this courtesy." And Amritas provides an interesting insight as well: "Shouldn't they have memorized al-Qur'an by now? Real Muslims don't need pa...

I have long wondered whether there is an objective way to measure bias in articles and Web sites about the Palestinian conflict. And I believe I found one. Both sides of the conflict are eager to present their position as based on a just claim to the land of Palestine and thus both sides have an interested in downplaying the role of the others in the region. Before Israel was founded millions of Jews lived among Arabs as "dhimmis". They were underprivileged, differently taxed, and often ha...

"Out there, in the world, all the walls were covered with graffiti: "Yids, go back to Palestine," so we came back to Palestine, and now the worldatlarge shouts at us: "Yids, get out of Palestine." - Amos Oz "A Tale Of Love And Darkness" Had Israel not been founded, had American and British and European Jews (those that survived) not joined the Jews of the Arab world, would the fate of the Arab Jews have been the same as the fate of Christians in Sudan and Kurds in Syria and Iraq who did ...

The below is an email I sent to the Irish Banking Authority after I have been a customer of Irish banks for a year. Ireland is often cited as an example for successful deregulation and one of the most free countries in Europe. I have come to think that this is actually a myth. --- The following is not a specific complaint, merely a short summary of the image the Irish Banking system portrays to foreigners who come to work and live in Ireland. I expect no changes to the system, in fac...

"If the US had invaded, say, Bolivia - Osama bin Laden would have completely ignored it. And those who would have claimed invading Bolivia had nothing to do with the War on Terror would have been correct." - Michael J. Totten World War I was simple. It was the last great war between nations, each fighting for their own interests. There was no objective good or evil (although individual actions can be perceived as either) and there were no obvious philosophical alliances (the Entente Cordia...

On my way to McDonald's today (I had a coupon for a free Bigmac), I met this group of war protesters. Three youngsters who made their point against the American occupation of Iraq. I actually talked to them. It took me one minute to figure out that I was everything they despise. I was born in West-Berlin. I have been a left-winger until having been "converted" by conservatives, who, as I pointed out to my three friends, were a lot more tolerant and open towards those who disagree with thei...

First Impressions When I first tried to understand the market, apart from (what seems like the) basics like supply and demand and their immediate influence, I very quickly realised that the number one strategy to succeed was using, sorry: utilising, the services of government in the form of patents, land titles, corruption, and as a customer. I later learned, and I was happy about it too, that not all companies rely solely on such mechanisms. I learned about two further strategies that ...

I believe in G-d. I believe that G-d created the world, but I have seen no evidence that points to the job being done in six days, which means that I will have to work with other, more practical theories about what happened. Even if the world was created in these six days, the world would still look the same and the knowledge of the method of the creation wouldn't help anybody. The process could neither be repeated nor the knowledge of it used to work with the world as we see it. Evol...
