A Quinnipiac University survey released recently indicated that Obama made a mistake on the Israel issue, and not only among Jews. Overall, the US public supports the president’s foreign policy, mostly in Afghanistan (56%) and in handling terror (61%), yet Americans are dissatisfied with Obama on one issue – his attitude to the Israeli-Palestinian problem. This trend is especially noticeable among Jews. While they support Obama on any other issue, when it comes to Isr...

There will be some celebrations on the streets among "peace activists" when this happens: Israelis may show a lot less restraint if skyscrapers in Tel Aviv are exploding. Iran might even fire off some of its own if the leadership thinks Israel lacks the resources or strength to fight on too many fronts. The United States could be drawn in kicking and screaming, but resistance-bloc leaders have every reason to believe it won’t happen, that the U.S. is more likely to zip flex cuffs on J...

Meet the new mascot of my blog, Mr Shmulik Karhon. Mr Karhon (aka Mr Samuel Iceberg) is a desert penguin. He is Jewish, obviously. I imagine his family is from northern Iraq. He is a traditionalist but not really religious. He is a conservative, like most penguins, yet fairly progressive, like most Jews. And he is not afraid of being thrown into the sea. Israel National News: According to recent media reports, Israeli military and intelligence agents are currently operating in Iraqi Kurdistan. Their primary role, according to reports, is to train elite Kurdish commandos in guerrilla warfare and anti-terror tactics. The Kurds - whose country is currently occupied by Iraq, Turkey, Iran and Syria - are reportedly again, after many years, accepting Israeli assistance in their struggle for independence. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...

This article is in itself interesting. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8585775.stm But I thought it would be fun to add a few bits of information I have learned from other news about Gaza.    By Jon Donnison and relevant well-known facts added by Leauki BBC News, Gaza In a busy internet cafe in the centre of  the Gaza concentration camp , lots of people, mostly young, are typing and clicking away in a territory that is so poor that it deserv...

Care to see a prime example of lefty minds exploding from confusion? I like this comment most: I dunno what this Administration is thinking about the Middle East. Clinton seems to be running around, making no new friends, and building no personal gravitas in the region. Wherever she goes, a few days later, Mike Mullen or some other high ranking U.S. military leader is sucked in, to confirm that she's been there, and that she wasn't just an errant American tourist. But as an American...

Apparently the Zionists are planning to unleash another racist catastrophe. This time they discriminate against cancer cells: An Israeli research scientist has accidentally discovered a chemical compound that eradicates cancer cells without harming normal cells in the process. The substance may prove to be the long sought-after "holy grail" in the wider field of cancer treatment. For now, it shows promise as a specific weapon against breast cancer. http://israel21c.org/health/c...

The Obama administration has encouraged "resistance" by Palestinians to protest Israel's presence in eastern Jerusalem, a senior Palestinian Authority official claimed to WND. The senior PA official, speaking from Ramallah on condition of anonymity, said that in recent meetings with U.S. envoys to the region, the American diplomats supported and encouraged the concept of Palestinian protests to pressure Israel into evacuating eastern sections of Jerusalem. http://www.wnd.com/ind...

By out "peace partners" who are not anti-Semites, want peace, and only see Israeli "settlements" as a reason for war: Palestinian journalists who last week met with their Israeli colleagues and an IDF spokesman in Tel Aviv have come under fire from both Hamas and Fatah. The trip was arranged by the non-profit Israel advocacy group The Israel Project, whose Web site described the group as “an international non-profit organization devoted to educating the press and the public about I...

The Quranic argument for Jewish sovereignty in the land of Israel By Sheikh Abdul Hadi Palazzi Over the past 15 years, the political conflict between Israeli Jews and Palestinian Arabs has been reframed as a religious war in which leaders from Yasser Arafat to Hassan Nasrallah to Osama bin Laden have appealed to the authority of the Quran to support their goal of eliminating the State of Israel. The authority of the Quran has also been cited in support of a revisionist history that seeks...

Some here have wondered why I trusted Hillary Clinton so much, and as I said it was because I assumed she was as capable as her husband was. Say what you will about President Bill Clinton, but he understood foreign policy. This was President Clinton's proposal for a "Palestinian" state (on the left is what Arafat claimed Israel had proposed): Israel accepted the proposal, the PLO reacted with war.

The new Egyptian report finally exposes this fraudulent picture with hard facts and figures. For instance, the oversupply of building materials has in fact depressed the market price per ton of iron from $1066 in 2008 to $533 in March 2010; cement has dropped even more steeply, from just over a thousand dollars then to $240 today, because of an overabundance. http://www.debka.com/article/8684/ One wonders why the UN feel it is necessary to lie about the economic situation in Gaz...

Abbas said: "I am committed to whatever decision you take. If you agree, we will go for [indirect] talks and give [the Israelis] a chance. If you reject [this idea], I will abide by your decision... If there is another alternative, tell me what it is. If the alternative is war [with Israel], I promise you that I will be the first [to set forth]." Qatar answered: This elicited a jocular reply from Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim Aal Thani, who said...
