A Leauki's Writings
Published on April 15, 2010 By Leauki In War on Terror

There will be some celebrations on the streets among "peace activists" when this happens:

Israelis may show a lot less restraint if skyscrapers in Tel Aviv are exploding. Iran might even fire off some of its own if the leadership thinks Israel lacks the resources or strength to fight on too many fronts. The United States could be drawn in kicking and screaming, but resistance-bloc leaders have every reason to believe it won’t happen, that the U.S. is more likely to zip flex cuffs on Jerusalem.

Nothing brings more joy to most "peace activists" than a dead Jew, and nothing makes them whine and scream for the death of all Jews louder than a Jew fighting back.

Think I am being sarcastic?

I want to be proven wrong.

Sarcastic?  Some.  But to be effective, sarcasm has to be based upon truth.  And yours is.

I just wait for a NASPA to try and be sarcastic about Israel, i.e. compare Israel's actions with Israel's words.

The outcome of that sound totally rational. Try it.

"The Israelis build a fence because it _stops_ terror attacks."

"The Israelis destroy police stations in a battle because they say it's _more humane_ than throwing bombs."

That is how you know you are on the losing end.  When you sarcasm is more benign than the truth.

Don't you realize if buildings fall in Israel, it will be an inside job, just like 9/11, so the Israelis can lash out "justifiably". So either way it will be Israel's fault.

No reading necessary, liberals project their thoughts through osmosis.

So either way it will be Israel's fault.

That's not a big problem. Everything is always Israel's fault.

Sarcastic?  Some.  But to be effective, sarcasm has to be based upon truth.  And yours is.

I actually found an example of sarcasm from the other side. And it's excellent.

(At least I am convinced it's sarcastic.)

A Palestinian took everything right-wing Zionists have said and made it into a Web site where he invites them to do it. He carefully avoids subjects where Jews/Zionists have merely been accused of supporting them but picked everything Zionists support and the most extreme (real) demands (including greater Israel, which is a minority demand among Zionists):

http://www.palestinianzionistorganization.com/

He has done it. He took everything we (Jews/Zionists) have said and compares it with Israel's actions and he makes a few good points about Hamas and the PLO as well.

Aliyah to Greater Israel:

As a Palestinian I would like to say to the Jewish people from all over the world: ‘Make Aliyah and come back home!’. G-d promised this land to YOU. He promised to bring you back home to the land which He promised to your forefathers.

What is the land that God promised to Israel?

...

So, what land has God stated belongs to Israel? All of the land modern Israel currently possesses, plus all of the land of the Palestinians (the West Bank and Gaza), plus some of Egypt and Syria, plus all of Jordan, plus some of Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Israel currently possesses only a fraction of the land God has promised.

...

Dear Jewish cousins, I hope to see you soon in your capital Yerushalayim.

Of course we Fly ELAL

It's amazing. I am not saying this because I agree with him because I don't. Like the vast majority of Jews and Zionists I do not believe in a Greater Israel or a Jewish claim to land in current Egypt or Syria or Jordan (or Iraq or "Saudi"-Arabia).

But the satire is excellent.

It has everything, the Jewish greed, the expectation of complete surrender of local Arabs, the belief in G-d's promise, and "your capital Yerushalayim".

It doesn't speak of violence because violence was never a Zionist demand or even a tool most Zionists would have found justified for anything but self-defence.

As I said before, most people who are trying to be sarcastic about Zionism use as raw material not real Zionism but anti-Semitic lies about what Zionism is.

But that guy uses the real thing.

It is good.  And as you noted, it is hardly war mongering.  He portrays them as the the Borg and God as the Borg Queen, which is kind of funny (given the nature of Judaism). But that is what sarcasm is, not lies, just exaggeration (usually to extreme) of the truth.

Exactly.

And it's even more remarkable because I think it is the first satire of Zionism done by a non-Jew which does not depend on what non-Zionists claim Zionism is about.

The best satire of Zionism I know is a short story by Ephraim Kishon about Exodus. I'll see if I can find the story and translate parts of it.
