A Leauki's Writings

By out "peace partners" who are not anti-Semites, want peace, and only see Israeli "settlements" as a reason for war:

Palestinian journalists who last week met with their Israeli colleagues and an IDF spokesman in Tel Aviv have come under fire from both Hamas and Fatah.

The trip was arranged by the non-profit Israel advocacy group The Israel Project, whose Web site described the group as “an international non-profit organization devoted to educating the press and the public about Israel while promoting security, freedom and peace.”

The journalists met with Maj. Avichai Edri, head of the Arabic-language branch of the IDF Spokesman’s Office.

Three of the journalists – Lana Shaheen, Mueen al-Hilu and Abdel Salam Abu Askar – are from the Gaza Strip, while another two are from the West Bank.

They now face expulsion from the Fatah-controlled Palestinian Journalists Syndicate on charges of promoting normalization with Israel.

One of the groups, the Democratic Press Association, called on the journalists to “repent” and express publicly apologize for visiting the “Zionist entity and meeting with Zionist reporters.”

It described the journalists’ visit to Tel Aviv as a “despicable and harmful” act, saying it came at a time when the “Zionist occupation army was killing Palestinians. This visit does not represent the positions and morals of Palestinian journalists.

Yes, I was sort of trying to make the same point.

Arab journalists who actually visit Israel and talk to Jews do not represent the position and morals of "Palestinian" journalists.

(In fact they might not even represent the opinions and morals of western journalists.)

Can there be any more naked truth of the intentions of the PA leadership than that statement and alleged action?

I no longer am amazed at the colossal ignorance of man.  Genius is limited, stupidity is limitless.

I can tell you what the liberal reaction will be:

1. Reaction to what?

2. It's not true.

3. If it is true, it's not serious compared to what Israel does to journalists.

4. If it is serious, it is exactly what Israel does to journalists.

5. In fact, only Israel does this.

6. Israel suppresses free speech.

7. Israel tortures journalists.

8. Israel tortures Palestinian journalists.

9. Israel tortures Palestinians.

10. Israel tortures! You are only talking about minor free speech issues in the PA because you want to distract from the important facts.

It goes up the ladder step-by-step depending on how much information they get. Since the western media will likely not feature this one for too long (if at all), they might not leave step 1 or 2.

(Still love the discussion where someone here on JU said that Israel destroy "Palestinian" homes to replace them with Jewish homes and when asked for evidence or a source pointed to a BBC article about the IDF destroying a PA police station during a battle in the war started by the PA. That's how these stories get started apparently. It's not even the BBC's fault. The person in question never apologised for happily repeating an anti-Semitic lie that causes violence all over the world by people as ignorant but more violent than the JU poster in question.)

I have no doubt that is their reaction.  When confronted by contradictory facts, they resort to denial, attacking the messenger, smearing the messenger, and just ignoring the facts.  We see that in most causes they champion, as clearly none of their policies work.  But they still cling to them like they did.

I hear and see the same things in daily life.  If it were not so serious, it would be funny.
