A Leauki's Writings

According to a German article (URL below) Muntasser al-Saidi, the shoe thrower of Baghdad, claimed that he was tortured during his few months in Iraqi prison.

I don't understand this.

The same article, as do most the media, claims that all Arabs love him. So who were the people who tortured him? Could it be that supporters of the democratically elected Iraqi government disagree with al-Saidi?

Note that I don't believe that he was tortured.

But isn't it interesting how western media can manage to report that someone was tortured and celebrated by the same people, just to keep alive the spirit that everybody was against the invasion?

The other journalists present at the meeting where the show was thrown immediately stopped the man. Who would have thought that the media would choose the one journalist who hated George Bush and not the dozens who tried to protect him as representative of Iraqi public opinion!

Maybe they didn't give him his shoes back while in prison and he considers that torture. After all liberals believe that because prisoners at Gitmo don't get back rubs they are tortured too.
