A Leauki's Writings

The Israeli Declaration of Independence formulated the Zionist dreams for the country:

The Land of Israel, Palestine, was the birthplace of the Jewish people. Here their spiritual, religious and political identity was shaped. Here they first attained to statehood, created cultural values of national and universal significance and gave to the world the eternal Book of Books.

...

WE EXTEND our hand to all neighbouring states and their peoples in an offer of peace and good neighbourliness, and appeal to them to establish bonds of cooperation and mutual help with the sovereign Jewish people settled in its own land. The State of Israel is prepared to do its share in a common effort for the advancement of the entire Middle East.

Since then Israel and the Zionists have been waiting for the neighbouring states to share in the dream of peace and good neighbourliness, and, in the case of the partition of Israel/Palestine, in the founding of one of those states, made impossible by Jordan's and Egypt's immediate invasion.

But now, after so many decades, the Arabs have FINALLY decided to do something constructive and found their stupid state:

The Palestinian prime minister, Salam Fayyad, unveiled a government program on Tuesday to build the apparatus of a Palestinian state within two years, regardless of progress in the stalled peace negotiations with Israel [i.e. regardless of Arab unwillingness to eboy to the terms of any peace agreement (Leauki)].

The plan, the first of its kind [and several decades late (Leauki)] from the Palestinian Authority, sets out national goals and priorities and operational instructions for ministries and official bodies. Mr. Fayyad said it was meant to hasten the end of the Israeli occupation and pave the way to independent statehood, which he said “can and must happen within the next two years.”

Finally!

I am so in favour of this, I cannot express it in words.

Finally someone in the PLO sees the nominal ideal of the "Palestinian case" as more important than driving the Jews into the sea, keeping the Jews out of their holy city, and accusing the Jews of "stealing" the land they bought.

Found your stupid state, live there in peace, and leave us alone.

I am sure the west will happily fund this for you, with my tax money.

Thank you.

The fact is that Israel offered peace BEFORE the occupation, BEFORE the "refugee" problem, and BEFORE any of the wars had happened.

And the Arabs refused.

Mr. Fayyad’s plan lays out a broad outline for a democratic Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

They can have East-Jerusalem.

We'll just keep the Old City with the holy sites which should be open to everyone.
