Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's plan to evacuate Jewish communities from Gaza [back in 2005] and parts of the West Bank this summer is seen by Palestinians as a victory for terrorism and will result in further withdrawals from other Israeli cities, including Jerusalem, Arab Knesset member Ayoob Kara told WorldNetDaily yesterday in an exclusive interview.
...
"Aside from Hamas taking over, there are so many other problems with the disengagement," said Kara. "Like what about a final settlement with the Palestinians? Why would they ever want to reach a peace agreement when we are just giving them the land for nothing? There wont be much left to bargain about."
...
"Hamas is already telling their supporters that Israel leaving Gaza is because of their terrorism, so they are thinking terrorism works," said Kara.
...
"He won't listen. Sharon has surrounded himself with all the leftist politicians, and they are controlling things. They are the ones pushing this through."

Ayoob Qara was just reelected into the Knesset (Israeli parliament) on the Likud list. He speaks Arabic and English and lives with his wife and children in Dalit-el-Carmel near Haifa.

I was myself very much in favour of the withdrawal from Gaza. The world told Israel that the occupation is the problem. And even though the withdrawal from southern Lebanon brought more violence at that border, I still thought that testing that thesis might be worth it. I also figured the "Palestinians" would mostly kill each other over this, which they did.
Ariel Sharon's evil plan failed.
What now?
Any suggestion that has not lead to more war and violence when tried in the past is welcome.
