My personal situation has cleared up, I think; and I now have the time and energy to post pictures.
Follow the link below for pictures from the Bahai Gardens in Haifa:

And below for pictures from Haifa from above, the university campus, and Haifa at night from above. It's totally worth it.

The missiles came in from the mountains opposite the bay, I think.
Haifa is a beautiful city and looks a bit like Miami. It's not particularly exciting (apart from the Bahai temple). I saw Microsoft and Intel offices, and apparently the Pentium IV and other chips are being made here.
I spent some nice hours in Haifa. It was good, all-in-all.
I think I will write about the old city in Jerusalem tomorrow, but there won't be pictures (except from above), as a) everybody takes pictures of everything these days, and
I don't have a camera.

Sorry. Great pics, and great story!
And o, BTW: The Core 2 Duo was developed there as well.

Fantastic Pictures Andrew!
They are beautiful. So strange whenever I think Israel, I think desert, but it IS on the water...hah.
The night shots were really neat, and the campus looked good too.
Thanks for sharing those.
As usual I enjoyed your article.
