A Leauki's Writings
"The Peshmerga guard Kurdistan's de-facto border with ruthless effectiveness. Those who attempt to cross away from the checkpoints and the roads are ambushed by border patrols. Anyone who doesn't speak Kurdish as their native language stands out among the general population. Iraqi Kurds, out of desperate necessity, have forged one of the most watchful and vigilant anti-terrorist communities in the world. Terrorists from elsewhere just can't operate in that kind of environment. Al Qaeda members who do manage to infiltrate are hunted down like rats."

Another Israel.

Wow, a nice article at the link. Now he doesn't sound like he's making things up or twisting the truth and that's what I like to read.

Why did you pick that small section of the article and when you say:

Another Israel.

Are you speaking about the city he was in and what exactly do you mean ba nother? Just curious.

Kurdistan is very much in the same situation as Israel.

Both Kurds and Jews are people that used to be minorities in Arab countries. The difference is that the Jews had a western lobby and got their own country while the Kurds did not.

But both were subject to attacks by Arab nationalists and both are subject to ongoing terrorist attacks, or would be if they didn't defend themselves so well.

The Kurds are now where the Jews were 50-60 years ago. I wonder if other minorities will follow (it's not their decision though) or whether Arab nationalism will collapse before that.
