Shmulik's First Law of Modern Liberalism Any non-Scandinavian foreign politician supported by liberals will sooner or later turn out to be a homophobic crazy person.   Case in point: Bolivian President Evo Morales was under fire on Wednesday for suggesting that eating hormone-injected chicken could provoke male deviance at a global climate change summit. Bolivia's opposition and homosexual groups criticized comments made by Morales at the first "people's conferenc...

I find myself agreeing with liberal positions a lot. I also find myself disagreeing with liberals a lot, usually because I still agree with liberal positions when those positions are not used as material against conservative positions. Often I find myself agreeing with a liberal position but disagreeing with the rationalisation. For example, I support a socialised healthcare system although I prefer a split system where the necessary is provided by tax-funded public hospitals with...

German. Obama bleibt gelassen. http://www.welt.de/politik/ausland/article4166364/Obama-nach-se...

It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In that era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S's: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism. ... Democrat President John F. Kennedy ...

As often happens, satirical news site " The Onion " is among the first to notice that the media have been supporting Obama too much and created this little piece of what-if: http://www.theonion.com/content/news/media_having_trouble_finding_right?utm_source=a-section   This begs the question: if Obama does screw up, how will we ever find out? The media won't tell us. They didn't tell us about Obama's racist church or his scary views on child murder. Can we trust them to tell us if...

Can an Obama supporter please come forward and tell me why Michael Totten is wrong? It's not obvious to me and I consider myself quite knowledgeable in the subject. "Obama could, perhaps, argue that fewer resources were available for the fight in Afghanistan because of the war in Iraq. That would be true. But that’s also true of Al Qaeda’s resources. They also deployed manpower and material to Iraq that otherwise could have been sent to Afghanistan. The Al Qaeda leadership emph...

Is it too early for President Obama jokes? 1. President Obama wants to appoint a new middle east expert. Thefirst candidate knew the middle east well, spoke Arabic and Hebrew, andhas lived in the middle east for decades, but he wasn't a Democrat. The second candidate was a Democrat, but didn't know the middle east well and spoke neither Arabic nor Hebrew. Thethird candidate was a Democrat and knew the middle east well, spokeArabic and Hebrew, and has lived in the middle east for...

Imagine a household of three. Imagine a household of three 20-something year olds sharing a flat. Imagine the flat has three rooms, a big one, a small one, and a mid-sized one. (The big one has also the nicest view.) Imagine the three 20-something year olds work: Peter is a software developer and works full-time. He makes the most money of the three. Paddy is a part-time call-center clerk and works 20 hours a week. He makes less money per hour than Peter. Paul is an office dron...

1. A Jewish state that develops faster and better than all neighbouring countries despite having fewer natural resources (other than Jews). 2. American successes. 3. Black African countries that speak English and embrace western culture instead of their traditional African cultures. 4. Modern Christianity, Judaism, capitalism. 5. Equality for men and women and between “races” (i.e. no laws protecting one or the other and no special treatment for minorities based on their genes). ...
