I have tried to come to a conclusion for myself, whether I should oppose or support the building of a mosque not far from Ground Zero, and whether I should even have an opinion; but I couldn't figure it out. I still don't have an opinion (other than that building the mosque would be legal and must not be opposed violently). But I thought it would be interesting to weigh in three opinions; two by friends of mine, a gay Christian Palestinian who grew up in an Arab country and now lives in the d...

Today I give you an excellent candidate for President of the USA, Mr Shmulik Karhon. His message is so simple that even a liberal can understand it yet unlikely to offend even the most Christian of conservatives.     Granted, Mr Karhon wasn't born an American and is, in fact, a penguin. But apart from the minor issue that he will ursurp the presidency to get around that problem he will stick to the constitution and defend America's liberties. He will also defend fishin...

In our peculiar post-9/11 world, it is apparently less controversial to kill a suspect in cold blood than to hold him in preventive detention. The Post reported on February 14 that the Obama administration has killed many more suspected terrorists than it has captured. According to National Journal, Obama ordered more drone attacks in his first year than President Bush did in two full presidential terms. The Post article suggested that the two developments may not be unrelated. A dead suspect,...

Turns outStormfront.org found out who is responsible, either for Global Warming or the "lie" about it: When the staff at Hatewatch wants to know about the weird weather out there, we know just where to turn: Stormfront.org. That’s right, the leading white supremacist Web forum in the world. Only there can you find a truly unique revelation about the causes of global warming, and it has nothing to do with carbon emissions. It’s the Jews. That the nefarious Jews are ...

Is this a notable difference? http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2010/03/barack-obama-george-w-bush-us-troops.html Maybe it's just me but it looks to me as if the soldiers _loved_ George W. Bush but merely respect Barack Obama. Soldiers appear to want to get closer to Bush but seem bored in Obama's presence, just standing where there were supposed to stand. Also Bush stands in their middle while Obama is on the other side of a fence (but this might have to do with how the visi...

I have posted this story before but never got an answer from liberals. But I really want to learn how they would defend their ideas of taxation. So I have decided to post the story again.   Story starts. Imagine a household of three. Imagine a household of three 20-something year olds sharing a flat. Imagine the flat has three rooms, a big one, a small one, and a mid-sized one. (The big one has also the nicest view.) Imagine the three 20-something year olds work: Peter ...

Anybody who believes that the US invaded Iraq to "kill brown people" (or in general to kill people) is an idiot. Anybody who believes that Obama's healthcare plan is about killing people is also an idiot. Idiocy has nothing to do with left-wing or right-wing and both sides have their idiots. For years we had the honour of observing left-wing idiots misunderstanding (and trying to propagate such misunderstanding) the concept of invading a country to end a dictatorship ("It's all about oi...

As we all know, George Bush was a terrible diplomat. Everybody in the world hated him, especially the most racist and sexist governments and violent people always opposed his state visits. Obiouvsly a man hated by racists, sexists and violent people cannot have been a good President. Of course, they loved him in Africa and Albania and the US had the best possible ties with the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and eastern Europe (except Russia): http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/sto...

Evangelicals have no monopoly on the use of the word “Christian”. That’s the first thing that should be clear. However, George Bush didn’t really follow the “Christians” too much. Neo-conservative policies were not about banning abortion, making homosexuality illegal, or teaching religion in science class. Those are the key positions of the Evangelicals and George Bush didn’t pay much attention to any of them. Sarah Palin is a different animal ...

"I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." -- Martin Luther King   With the election of Barack Obama we have witnessed history in the making. The first man of different character was just elected President of the USA. Or, if we ignore Martin Luther King's dream and pay attention to skin colour instead, the first black man has just been elected President ...
