Anyone?
...
hhhmm a one word article..... bravo! (being petty, the title should be "Examples of Obama's Brilliance")
Lots of examples.....
Um..
Err....
Nevermind.
Oh wait, he convinced millions of Americans to vote for him based on a marketing slogan!
Typo corrected.
Anything else?
Sorry, for once I'm at a loss for words........
So rather than giving an example you chose to criticize the amount of words on the article and a spelling error. Makes me wonder how good you are at dodgeball.
.............
Is selective memory an excuse for not giving an example?
Leave him alone. For once his participation in a discussion was actually constructive.
I am still curious though. I keep reading about how "intelligent" Obama is, but I have never seen him actually do or say anything particularly clever.
(And I keep wondering whether he mentions the writing of his first autobiography in his second authobiography.)
..... ..... ..... ..... .....gotta go...I think I just broke my thinker.
He won the presidency? Seriously, it's not that easy to do, even with an eminence gris. And I haven't heard any rumours of a Karl Rove figure in Obama's background.
Facing down Hillary Clinton - widely perceived to be a shoe-in - was no easy task either. I think the way he managed showed a brilliant grasp of overarching political strategy.
But if you're looking for evidence that he's the messiah many of his voters think he is, rather than simply a brilliant politician, you're right, it's much too early to know.
If the research is to be believed - and I haven't seen any evidence to suggest it shouldn't be - clever things don't win votes. Simple policies clearly expressed win votes. I'm not sure you could ever say that someone won an election on cleverness. But that doesn't mean the politician isn't clever.
So an example of true altruism that is uniquely clever, or merely an example of true altruism that requires a certain degree of cleverness?
For example, would volunteering as a lawyer for the homeless be evidence, or would he need to do something unusually brilliant that's also selfless?
The latter.
And his work as a lawyer for the homeless would also have to accomplish something. Many people invest a lot of time doing good without having an impact.
You dont have to be brilliant to be charismatic and cultish. And the latter gets you a lot farther as then the followers do not question, and explain away foibles with religious like devotion.
and that's exactly what we're seeing.
I turned on Oprah (I know, I know) just to hear what she said YESTERDAY! She had a panel discussion rehashing the day before festivities and I had to gag when I heard one comment about how Obama "speaks to my soul like no other."
What is that?
Then I heard on another newscast they were comparing Michelle in her white dress to a "goddess."
Puh-----leese!
Anyhow yesterday all over the place it was all gushing about how great Obama is and how he will impact the world globally and bring "hope" to the world.
Now, if that isn't religious speak, I don't know what is.
